St. Regis has welcomed guests to a sleek new hotel within the Golden Triangle of Jakarta – the Indonesian capital’s bustling business district. Nestled among the area’s towering skyscrapers and foreign embassy buildings, the luxury brand’s latest outpost is the perfect setting from which to explore the city.

In keeping with the St. Regis tradition of celebrating the culture of its destination, the design of the Jakarta outpost takes inspiration from Indonesia’s rich musical history. New York-based designer Alexandra Champalimaud was brought in to craft the striking interiors.

Stepping foot inside the lobby, guests are greeted by a shimmering kinetic chandelier titled ‘Sound of Light’ created by Czech glassmaker Lasvit, synchronized with music by Indonesian composer Andi Rianto.

The sprawling hotel features 282 guest rooms and 28 elegant suites in shades of royal blue and cream. Glittering chandeliers and plush velvet sofas add a touch of luxury, while custom-made cushions embedded with batik motifs by Indonesian designer Iwan Tirta add to the sense of place.

If you’re looking for a truly memorable stay, consider booking the Caroline Astor Suite. Taking its name from the matriarch of the hotel’s founding family, the lavish abode features an expansive living room, marble bathroom and outdoor terrace with killer views of the city. Of course, guests can expect St Regis’s legendary butler service with everything taken care of from unpacking to garment pressing.

When it comes to food, guests are spoilt for choice. St. Regis Jakarta boasts eight gourmet dining spots. Bel Étage serves classic Indonesian fare while Rosé is more akin to a laid-back deli, stocked with a selection of light bites. Right next to the lobby, The Drawing Room is a wonderful setting for guests to indulge in the hotel’s legendary afternoon tea or even take part in a Champagne sabrage class.

Perhaps most exciting of all, however, is the hotel’s signature bar which has been decorated with a striking wall mural by Indonesian artist Eddy Susanto. Here, guests can enjoy live jazz late into the evening and a lengthy cocktail menu.

“The opening of The St. Regis Jakarta is the latest chapter in the marvelous history of St. Regis unveiling the best address where Jakarta’s luminaries can gather for private teas, midnight suppers and glamorous galas in this vibrant city,” said Marc Handl, general manager at The St. Regis Jakarta.

“We are looking forward to serving our guests in the finest of these traditions, beautifully complemented by exceptional Indonesian spirit, style and hospitality.”
